Who cares if the paintwork is chipped or not if you can't see it? Or are you thinking to keep it nice when it comes to sell it? If the latter then I'd not be surprised to find a nasty line across the bonet where the paint has faded differently with different exposure to the sun.

There\'s no sense crying over every mistake.\r\nYou just keep on trying \'til you run out of cake.

Trapped moisture under bonnet bras can cause havoc with bodywork as well. Especially if there is anywhere that it can pool.

Another problem I have heard is that any dust/dirt/particles trapped under can cause thousands of tiny scratches from the movement of the fabric, leaving a visible difference in finish quality.

They just ain't worth leaving on for long periods of time, or even putting on and taking off frequently.

Make sure you get a good layer of wax on there when you clean under to help protect the paintwork.

Out of interest, is the bra got an inner lining, like fleece or lamb wool or anything?

Yes i ment it stops stone chips and the car will look in better condition come sale time. thay might couse little surface scratches that can be polished out but its not a solid colour so it isnt really going to fade the paint that much and if it did it would be so minute a good polish would sort it out. i would wax the bonnet befoure fitting it.
