Using just lead will be expensive and weigh a ton, They most likely weld a panel in and use a skim of lead to get the final shaping (it's an old school alternative to bondo or filler). They will then kjust use a skim coat of filler for final prep for paint.

Those panels are crap and normally crack in time. Best way as said is to weld a plate then fill and paint. The cheapest way isn't always the best.

I didn't, and it's the new owner's problem now Laughing
It still has the original bulb holders, so shouldn't be an issue tbh

any one no where else to get the boot pannels from? not botherd if they crack in time just want it for a project or any one have a boot already smoothed?
