Was driving last night to a friends house and i went on a dual carriage way was driving to about 80mph then as i was getting off at my exit i was slowing down stopped at a roundabout and the speedometer was still on 40mph, continued driving and it acted like 40mph was 0 and just kept going up till like 90, when i got to my friends house it stopped on 50mph and i realised once i turn the car on and off it drops by 5 on the speedometer so i done that till it dropped to 0 now it goes up and down normally but it sometimes stops on 10 or 5 mph when im not moving -.- really got on my nerves

Anyone know how to fix it ? Crying or Very sad

Year of 206?

ABS fitted or not?

If its fitted is the ABS light on?

There's 2 different way's the speedo work's on a 206 depending on age & ABS fitment, give us some clue what we are dealing with & we can then help you further Wink

Its most likely the speedo itself at fault, the speedo needle can become loose or sticky.

A spot of WD40 or superglue in the right place normally fixes it depending on which of the 2 common faults you have Laughing

78k miles, hope you have had the timing belt replaced recently Wink

Ive already answered your question, a drop or two of WD 40 will fix it.

Yeah, very carefully, a couple of drops down the hole & gentle move the needle about to work the lube in.

Pull the plastic dash surround off to unclip it.

Undo the one torx screw at the top of the instrument cluster.

Lift / unclip the cluster from the dash & undo the electrical connections on the back.
