Hi all,
I've got a 99 V plate 1.4 LX that I bought already modified which included a lovely 4 inch slash cut backbox on it, which I later found out was a contributing factor to my terrible MPG, here's my mathematic calculations
1.4 with 4" aftermarket exhaust - 23MPG
1.4 with standard OEM backbox - 34MPG
Is the standard box still a poor figure? It doesn't sound amazing to me personally! I was hoping for late 30's early 40's!
The car is probably due a service which i'll get round to doing.
The 34MPG is a mix of dual carriageway driving and back roads, I do have quite a heavy right foot though so I know this would be another contributing factor.
Cheers
Jord

i think thats about right as i don't think the 1.4 could see the other side of the 40's lol
could be wrong though

The 1.4's can do around 40-44mpg if you have a light right foot
