How do you debadge the front grille or do I have to buy a new part? Any ideas please people

You will need to buy a badgeless grille
Google will show up plenty of places to buy one from

It looks daft without the bonnet recess filled in/welded up though.

you can get some grilles that use the recess as part of the grille though. Some dont look that bad.

This, if I couldn't afford the grill + the bonnet filled in I wouldn't even consider it.
I think even the grill that tries to fill the recess in doesn't look that great.

i think when doing up your car, you kinda do have to consider what other people think of it mate.
personally, i don't think it looks terrible, but i've seen better!
the whole reason you do it up is to make it look better, so make sure you actually make it look better and not the opposite, especially if you're spending money!
