It sounds like its coming from the top of the engine, like its just behind and below the rocker cover.
It almost sounds like a supercharger.

Thanks for all the reply guys,
The noise sounds like it's coming from the engine, air con pump sounds like it could be, as my air con doesn't work anymore just figured it needed refilling.
I've my mechanic coming back from tomorrow, so i will get him to check it then
On a plus side my steering feels lovely  apart from the new belt is squeeling like a b***h!!! But that will get sorted tomorrow

Hmmm could also be a gasket gone on the inlet side.
