Try 2 kettles of boiling water this normally works then when off put some copper grease on hub

no it will not harm paint its just the different types of metel expand and contral at differnt rates it just breaks the seal between hub and wheel

This happened with my mates Bora and we had to continuouslly hit it with a rubber mallet, eventually it came off ![Smile Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif)

I've not heard that way before - I shall try that one next time.
But I agree, they can be an absolute bugger to get the wheels off when really stuck.
I resorted once on a trailer taking the bolts out and ramming the trailer into a kerb.... it originally kept coming off the axle stands when I hit it with a hammer ![Mad Mad](images/smiles/icon_mad.gif)
