Hi Guys
Started a thread recently about the gear linkages which i changed on saturday. It slightly improved reverse but i think the issue is with the selector as 5th is still a struggle to get in. She called me up this morning to say the car wont go into gear at all now :(.
I want to order a gearbox off ebay, are there diffrent revisions of box or is it a simple affair ?
I was thinking -
cgi.ebay.co.uk/Peugeot...27b83ad104
There seems to be different codes which im worried about - For example -
cgi.ebay.co.uk/Peugeot...4cf47d877b
Cheers for the help
Sam

To add to the above
Do you guys think the best option is going recon or just getting one off the bay ?
Jones tranmissions will do a recon for £450 which dosent seem too bad and may be worth the peace of mind, but then again £145 is tempting
Cheers

do you have any spanner skills? if you dont need the car for a few days me personally id drop the box out and strip it down they are fairly simple just take lots of pictures what went where, if its just 5th and reverse it sounds like you have bent the selector fork or something. £145 i think is quite expensive especially for cars which seem 10 a penny!

I recently replaced my gearbox in my 1.4 GLX. Cost me £130 for a second hand one from the scrappy. If I remember rightly it's cable controlled. It's still going tough wood.

Any MA gearbox will fit, however the ratios will slightly differ.
If she isn't too fussed about it, just get any
