was thinking of changing my steering wheel, the current one is very worn :s.
should i get a custom one, maybe a V2, or should i just get a standard 206 one.
problem will be the airbag as if i remove it, it might mess up the sensors and MOT will fail, etc.
any ideas?

if you buy an aftermarket wheel a decent one will come with a resistor which makes the car think it still has an airbag fitted and the light doesnt come on

Depends on what you want it for tbh, custom steering wheels are normally quite expensive for what you get, aftermarket steering wheels will require a hub adapter kit which range from 60 to 170 quid and will not have an airbag so the light will be on unless you bypass it and a 206 standard wheel would be the easiest option as it should bolt straight on and away you go although best to be fitted by a professional as messing around with airbags can have serious consequences as a mate of mine found out in his Fiesta Zetec S when he was driving it and parked turned the steering wheel to full lock and it deployed broke his nose but was absoulty hilarious.
The other option is to find a upholsterer and have him trim your current one in leather for you shouldn't set you back to much and there are a lot of options to choose from.
Hope this helps mate.

Yea i know mate had me in a fit of laughter for 10mins , yea should fit youll need to check the fitment but most models use the same boss kits throughout the model range only normally a bolt in the centre of the steering wheel and then some wires to connect to the horn and airbag module.

pretty sure the only difference between the wheels is the way the airbag is mounted inside the wheel someone with a bit more knowledge should be able to point you in the right direction with that though!

& come 2012 it will fail the new tougher mot test
Airbag has to be fitted & the warning light has to operate correctly ![Wink Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif)
