im thinking about getting cams for my 206 gti 138

basicly i want to know what ones i should go for?

i dont want to high lift as its a daily use car and i dont want to have to go through remap, but i want them to have the lumpy sound to them

also what make should i go for for cost effective but not cheap crap

It's duration you need to be worried about.

Then just fit some Piper Ultimate Road cams to your engine, will need some pockets machining into the pistons. With your standard inlet you'll get all the lumpyness you desire Rolling Eyes

Saxo electric PAS pump, Vibra Technics engine mounts. Samco coolant hoses, TTV steel flywheel, 4.76 final drive ratio, 307 CC 180 ratios. 2019 BMW 530i. 2017 Mercedes C300 convertible.

i don't understand at all.

lumpy idle is cause by the long duration of the camshaft and normally long duration camshaft are quite high lifting and need a remap to work well.

They also won't give best results on the standard inlet. If you're going to do it, do it properly.

remaps will make the most of your mods its a dumb idea to avoid it

Also if you want lump cams it means they'll let the engine breath better at higher revs...meaning the rev limit needs to be increased.

im considering some fast road cams with a stainless manifold and a remap to go with my panel filter and cat back.

from what ive heard thats the best thing to do without going down the route of throttle bodies turbo or full rebuilds

Cool

it depends on what profile is the cam.

i know cat. has got some newcamshaft for pug engine which require no remap.

but they are just very mid sport cam only

to be honest if they dont require a remap there gunna be s**t, , no point modding and tuning if you dont do it right, there's a big difference from my old mapped gti to my standard gt and it had no other performance mods the standard map on a gti 138 is s**te bumpy torque line
