If it's factory fitted it should come on automatically when you lock the car with the key remote. Pressing it twice will lock the car but disable the alarm I think. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong), I guess you could lock yourself in the car with the remote and jiggle around to see if the alarm works lol.

Depends on the BSI software version
Later software versions you can press the lock button twice which removes the deadlocks BUT still arms the alarm system.

Or you could just go to Dealers and ask for new key and your Pug Card which has the info required if ever you loose the new key.
So go to main dealer get a new key for car and card. The Main Dealer can get all the Info they need from Reg Plate and Vin Number.
You could then source a private diagnostic tech guy to come out to You - to do all the tech stuff to get your car mapped to the key etc. I used a tech guy...they saved me a load of cash. Main Dealers just rip you off.
These are the guy's I used : www.lvvservices.com/ca...ostics.htm

Yeagh these guys..LVV Car Services are based in Wales and just work up to Newport. So I guess noit much help. But LVV do Key encode Systems...so I guess there must be others that do, and hopefully near to your area!?

Would cost you about £120 for me to come, turn the alarm on if I can and reprogram your keys.
