Hi everyone,
When i put the clutch down to change gear my revs still rise slightly (and no its not my driving lol)
It can make for some real lumpy gear changes and is fairly annoying.
i had a google around and found that it may be a clutch switch??
it also needs a little blip on the accelerator to start the car, could these be related??
thanks
Joe

Doe the revs rise slightly when clutch is re-engaged and you press the accelerator?

if im accelerating or driving along and drop the clutch to change gear it will rise, it does it when i drop it not when i re-engage. ive tried accelerating then dropping it and not re-engaging it for a few seconds to see what happens and it still rises..

Never noticed this, I always give the accelerator a press as I engage the gear to adjust for the lost revs

i had this on a fiesta i owned and can confirm its really annoying even tho it doesnt sound like much lol.
it makes gear changes clumpy and driving annoying. i got it code read and it told me the throttle position sensor was reading outside its range.
however i replaced it and the problem didnt go away. it slowly got worse over time untill the revs were rising 2k when i clutched in to change gear! i took it to multiple garages inc ford but none knew what was doing it.
i found that when i reset the ecu by unplugging the battery the problem went away for a week before comming back. i also found that if i unplugged the tps the car ran rough but the problem went away. eventually the garage suggested it might be bad resistance in the tps wiring loom. but before i had chance to replace it the car was written off lol
hope this helps ya buddy
