Hey guys having some problems with my Y reg 206 2.0 HDI so thought I would see if you could help.

The car doesnt want to start at all - turns over but not firing.
After moving through the gears whilst trying to start it I was surprised that it did fire up and worked fine so long as the revs were held on but would not idle on its own.

I have read a few posts on various forums and have seen a few similar issues solved by a dodgy earth strap to gearbox. I was wondering if this could be my problem? I presume I need to take battery off and strip the plastic battery box out to get to this earth strap?

One more thing to mention is after having a look around today I noticed a white eletrical connector hanging down on its own in front of radiator. I couldnt see anywhere obvious where this was from. Any ideas what this could be?

Thanks

Well all WAS going well but yesterday morning the car wouldnt start again! Ive tried the inertia switch again but no look. Ive checked and cleaned the earth and all seems fine but still no joy.
Can anyone help on this as it is getting very frustrating now. Not sure if the loose connector is playing any part in this problem but cannot see where it is supposed to go.

The car seemed fine after resetting the inertia switch and I used it for a couple of long journeys but now this! ARGH! help.

i'll have a look on my car and see if i can see if i have one just hanging down or actually connected.

It depends what trim level yours is, like the Dturbo has an oil temp gauge and if yours doesn't the car will still be wired for one i believe Smile

If in doubt, drop a cog and put your foot down Smile
