You got these faults sorted yet mate??
just wondered as for a clutch fault it should just get worse not be intermitent and you say the EML warning light came on which the AA said something about clutch pedal and an actuator??
Im just curious as i have never known this fault occur as im unaware of an actuator on the pedal except the clutch switch that tells the ECU when the clutch is disengaged, this going wrong could cause limp home mode to kick in, depending on age of car.
let us know what needed fixing to cure these faults |
hey, text mate today about looking at it so no not sorted yet.
I've managed to dig out what the AA gave me. He wasnt looking at not bein able to go over 70 as at the time I hadnt noticed that. All i was aware of at the time was that the power suddenly went from 70mph to 50mph.
At the time i was pretty thankful as my mate has the same light on but he lost all power!
ok.. the form says..
"Symptons: Fault Clutch Actuator High P0903"
"Found clutch Pedal Switch Not Correctly Adjusted. Clean Fault. Refitted Switch. . Vehicle OK to drive."
He told me that it keeps popping out and that you can get the part from peugeot and get it fitted.

Yeah i see now as i put in my post its known more commonly as a clutch switch and it will cause trouble when it doesn't send a signal to the ECU to tell it you have pushed the pedal down!!
The same happens when you use the brake on some cars, its so the engine doesn't get more fuel when not needed, you test it by trying to brake and accelerate at the same time, if its working it won't let accelerate
The other fault to me anyway doesn't sound like the clutch because it should struggle way before getting to 70 but i could be wrong, not usual to have clutch slip in 5th gear before any others, just my opinion though

she's generally slow from 3rd.. i dont seem to have the power behind her any more.. from like 40mph.. so town drivin is fine.. but like pullin onto a motorway she takes ages to build up the speed..
an as i said before goin round roundabout or corner in 3rd it will pop out?
any ideas??

ok just an update.. spoke to a mate who also suggested about maybe turbo blown or a cylinder gone.
However I have the feeling that the clutch maybe having problem.. Sitting waiting at a junction I was liftin to get bitin point an just dint seem to feel that power like she wanted to move but was bein held back and I did seem to have to lift my foot higher..
Got to do a 40 mile journey tomorrow and then back. hope it lasts that an then i'l leave it to be looked at..
