woke up to find this this morning,

 


looks like a crack in my oil sump Sad gonna replace it my self is there anything i should look out for or is it a bolt out bolt in job???

also would most scrappies take them off cars cuz some of the few iv spoke to have said that it wouldnt be something they would sell off an engine =/

Id let all oil out take the sump out which is just bolted on and see if it can be welded back together if its just cracked

i always see some cheap new oil sump on ebay, wonder are they any good?

i guess they probably going to rust very easily lol

yea iv seen them myself, couldnt rust anymore than whats on at the moment so i dont think that welding is really an option lol

I personally wouldn't get one from scrappy, I got one cheap from my local car parts shop. Had them in stock too.

scrappys dont like splitting engines

A scrappy isnt going sell you a sump from a complete running engine.

If you can find one with a shagged engine in then the scrappy will then happily break it.

aye ano, found a guy thats not too far from me selling one from a scrapped engine for just £25 so happy days, gonna head out for it here and start the swap

just luck i was gonna do a service on ma car so i have the oil and all here lol

ok after taking all day to get the new sump i started work on it this morning, iv undone all the bolts and the thing is stuck tight take it i need to get a paint scraper nd a hammer to it to separate it???
