Daughter is thinking of getting one, but prices seem to fluctuate wildly and are high compared with some of the valuation web site (what car?, etc).

I know summer is coming which will push up the price but what would you be looking at paying for a 52 plate, with 60K, metallic silver. Nothing special, just standard spec. Need a bit of body work (scratches, badly matched paint on a couple of spots on n/s door, scuffed alloys, dirty interior). All seems to work OK (roof, etc). Haven't test driven yet or given it the full once over.

£3K? higher, lower?

thanks guys

Gazza

A lot lower.. Sounds in pretty bad condition..

I suppose its not what is the average price but what is the best she can afford in her price range.

To give you an idea i paid 4.5k at a pug dealer for a pretty much mint 2002 plate 2.0L CC. Only 1 small scratch on the lower rear bumper, 6 months dealership warranty and a years road tax.

It's a year later and I know that I could get at least 4k for it as it's still only done 50k miles and the prices are going up.

The 1.6's aren't that much cheaper (only in running cost and insurance maybe)

3k doesn't sound that bad as long at it runs ok but the if the bodywork and interior are in need of attention imagine what the engine could end up being like?!

That is really expensive for a 10 year old peugeot

I paid the price for the condition and mileage and I was happy to pay that much. No car is perfect tho (especially french ones) and I have had to replace wear and tear items since. It's the going rate in my area.

i found that soft roof cars prices also fluctuate according to season. ie. in summer they will be slightly more expensive then if they were to be sold during winter.

Well she did it ... but not quite what we expected. Pug 206 CC ... 2001 Y-reg 2.0 SE ... in Cayman Green!

56k on clock (verified by old MOTs), not much service info (so cambelt is first), and in reasonable condition (normal wear & tear, small scratches, etc). Just over £2k after haggling a bit.

Say hello to "Kermit"!!! Wink

first thing, everyone has a mind set in the summer, ahh lets get a cabriolet, and so the price has now risen on them, we picked are 206 cc which is a 52 plate with 30k for £3.5k in august last year.

Yeah, we knew that. Trying to find a good one was the problem.

And we wanted to get something other than silver ...
