Took my car to the garage today as the clutch cable has stretched. After a road test, they said that i would need a new clutch kit as I have brake judder?
The car seems fine to me, except the clutch pedal slipping every now and then.
What is brake judder and what does it have to do with the clutch?

He definately said brake judder, but he seemed like he was just one his way out when i went to collect it so he might have meant clutch judder.

I thought brake judder was caused by warped disc's or pad's, Stuff like that. Correct me if I'm wrong but I have never heard brake juddering caused by clutch issue's.
Edit - Just seen above post's

Clutch Judder is caused by the clutch components and flywheel not meeting concentrically. The friction surfaces rub concentrically causing a low frequency vibration that is transmitted to the car via the engine/gearbox mountings and drive shafts. Causes can be
1) Mis-aligned clutch
2) Clutch wear/broken 'finger' springs
3) Condensation on the flywheel (usually happens on colder nights in which case judder should only last until the condensation has evaporated)
4) Contamination on the clutch such as oil from a leaking gland.
Case 1 will require the clutch to be re-aligned
Case 2 will require a new clutch
Case 3 may happen frequently on colder mornings, but judder will disappear 5 mins into driving.
Case 4 Replacement of the clutch plates
Driving continuously with judder may cause damage/increase wear to engine and/or gearbox components. If judder persists take your vehicle to a garage as soon as possible.

"Case 1 will require the clutch to be re-aligned"
Out of curiosity, exactly how do you re-align a clutch?

Out of curiosity, exactly how do you re-align a clutch?...surely the clutch is self-aligned by the spigot shaft passing thru its centre?.
Clutch judder can also be caused by the friction plate becoming warped |
