I did and I regret it... Unfortunately I am from Australia (well that parts not unfortunate  ) and so I didn't know ANY mechanics here as this was my first car. Back in OZ I knew loads but I really had no choice.....

Kwik Fit are just ridiculous. Why on earth they like to take on chavs who work whilst wearing hoodies with the hood over the head even is beyond me.

A timing chain in a well maintained engine will generally last the life of the engine and does not have a schedule for replacement, compared to a timing belt (same as 'cambelt') which will need regular mileage/time related replacement during the life of the engine.
