At 94k on the clock the headgasket is going. Sad just had a new clutch and gear box put it so kinda annoying. But stripped her down yesterday back to standard (1.4 black 8v glx) excluding leaving on black spoiler as i cant take it off and leave drill holes, sport front bumper and xsi interior, as sold originals.

BUMMER!! is the word that springs to mind as i was going to put coilovers on and adjust strut brace on saturday (found out on the thursday b4 hand luckily as saved money taking it all off again).

Any whoosss what do people think of this? Main question does it have sport wings on the front ??

1 Owner From New. Full Service History. 55,000 Miles. 12 Months MOT £2390 and i will px my bean can to try lower that price.

I have lots of bits and bobs that will be going on so will do a before and after if i go ahead with the buy. I was going to get a ZR but apparently they are troublesome on headgaskets around 50k and mine had 48k so i stayed clear of it.

Body work is abit poop and i got told i have wet liners so they wouldnt change the head gasket as it wouldnt be cost effective so they said either put a new engine in it or jsut wait for it to go.

Something to do with the headgasket. Basically they told me in general people dont replace 206 head gaskets that have wet liners as its not cost effective :/

You have already spent money on replacing the clutch and gearbox, I would be tempted to say keep it and fix the head gasket and make use of the parts youve just paid to replace

Seems very pricey to me! I'd hang around a while and see what else comes up tbf. I had a rover 200 and i cant fault them other than there not all that pleasing n the eye, however one of my mates had a ZR and headgasket went within a few months but there pretty nippy little cars, his 1.4 wasnt a million miles away from my XSi.
PM me for Valeting & Detailing services at great rates!
Detailing Guides are also available ask me for more information.

What He Said

go to another garage dude, get another opinion. iirc head gaskets arnt that bad a job on 1.4's and dont cost as much as some engines

dont quote me on that though
