so iv jus spent a few months rebuilding my engine and put it all back together and it wont start

its tries to turn over but is just draining all the power,

jumped it off another car and was draining power from that aswell....

checked wiring and seems fine, gave the earths a bit of a clean and its still the same.

any ideas what it could be?

have you checked the Timing belt sequence??it's very important for the engine to start, sometimes if it's fitted in the wrong way,it makes the throttle body push air instead of sucking it inside the engine.

I was gonna say that. You just need a working alternator.

nope.

No way will alternator give enough juice with a few turns from the bump start to get the show running.
