I've just washed my pug down, and drove it about 30minutes later, only to see the airbag indicator was flashing, i've looked at the sticky 'beginners guide to a 206', there was a new battery put in recently and the alternator is fine, im not so good with removing car parts or fiddling with them.
A friend of mine said it might be because the car could still be wet ( ?? ) does this mean my airbag wont deploy under impact?

since its happened just after you washed the car there is a possibility that water has got into some electrics somewhere and caused the airbag fault, before doing anything give it chance to dry out fully and see if it goes off. as to whether the airbag will deploy or not when the lights on, im not sure

Fix the problem will reset it.
How big was the pothole, non plexed 206's have been known to fire seatbelt pretensioners if the pothole is big enough
