crack the back nuts aswell if your doing your drums as the rear wheel normally lifts of the floor aswell.

i wasnt planing on priming not to sure if that would be a good idea

you shouldnt need to with hammerite tbh, its designed to go over anything.. just take a wire brush to surface first to dislodge any crap.
