Hi, my ABS (slippery sign) is on. Vehicle speedometer not working neither.

According to PPS the problem are the two rear abs sensors. I was reading each wheel on a road test and the two front wheels report the same speed (almost exactly the vehicle speed) but the two rear are crazy, LEFT starts ok at low speed but after a minute it goes to 262 kmH and freezes there! the RIGHT stays at zero KMH all the time.

One mechanic asked me to change the ABS unit, he says he checked the sensors (visually) and are ok.

Do you know of any case of a sensor going to crazy 246 kmh in one second?

What are your guesses? sensors or abs unit

Could be a swaping rear sensors a good test?

Thanks for all your help

Hi, I did this test:

ORINGALLY REAR WHEELS:
Left, ok at low speeds then to 246 kph and stays there
Right: 0 at all times

SWAPED CONNECTORS (Not sensors)
Left: 0 at all times
Right: 0 to 246 kph then freezes

PUT WIRES BACK TO CORRECT SIDE AND SWAP SENSORS (took out and install to opossite side)
Left, ok at low speeds then to 246 kph and stays there
Right: 0 at all times

For the last test I guess it´s not the sensors, otherwise the problem would have followed its sensor

I´m suspecting from the wheels rings, what do you think?

BTW: I bought the car used and with the ABS warning light on. I scanned the car and showed the front right sensor, changed it, when for a test ride and showed the two rear wheels reporting more than 240 kph.
Touched the connector at the ABS unit pump to check for a bad contact and then one wheel started reporting ZERO and the other one going to 246 kph and freeze

Well this is your second thread on the same topic for a start.

Thought you said you changed the abs rings?

Tiago90: You are right, reading back my email it seemed not polite. I am sorry, never ment to put it like it sounded

Lee: Yes, you are right. I opened another thread because I saw the other one never got any answer any more, so with the new info I expected other people would participate with ideas. And no, I haven´t change the rings, I am step by step because I am doing it by myself. I expect to check those rings this week
Thanks a lot

Carlos

SOLVED!!!

I changed the two rear wheel hubs (with the magnetic ring attached to each one).
I did reset the ECU for abs with peugeot plannet and voila!!!

Forgot to say:
- My 206 has rear discs, not drums
- The two ABS rings are not dented, but magnetic attached to each hub
- The right rear ABS ring was missing from the HUB (that is why it sent 0)
- The left rear ABS ring had scratches
- Each HUB with the ABS Ring attached (Dealer says the ABS rings are not sold individualy) was US $ 80 each
- The first morning ride was very nice I think even the temperature has been improoved staying below 90 (I´ll checked at noon drive)
