They where total s**te when new & also being an XU some parts are no longer stocked by Peugeot.

Imagine a standard 205 engine, then bolting a turbo on it because you where bored

You can make it a fairly good engine, but it isn't necessarily good out of the box.
Just because peugeot stopped making accessory parts for XU does not mean you cannot get them elsewhere, and besides XU's were used until 2001 so you can still get plenty of parts.
