My ABS light's been on for just over a month, had it MOTd yesterday and it's failed. It's currently in the fifth garage (Hickleys) since I spotted the problem and I keep getting told different things!!! I've been told that it was the brake sensor but that's been replaced and wasn't the problem, then I was told there were two breaks in the wiring from the ECU to the ABS, then I was told that it in fact wasn't any wiring or braking problem, but that I needed the code from peugeot to reset the ECU properly!! Now Hickley's are telling me I need to buy a new ABS pump. I'm so confused!!! The ABS light isn't the only light to come on, I've had the engine management and the air bag lights come on since this problem started, and the mechanic that said about resetting the ECU asked me if I'd had these lights come on and said that they would if the problem was the ECU, so I'm tempted to let him reset the ECU first before I spend all my money on a new pump!!!
I did have a problem a couple of years ago with the ECU as the headlights and wipers stopped working but it was supposedly fixed. Help!?!?!

Really? How much? It's such a pain in the a**e as I can't seem to get anyone to agree on the problem!!! I'm tempted to let my guy reset it and see if it works because the other mechanic was on about buying a brand new pump from peugeot to be sure it definitely works but I don't wanna be spending hundreds on the car as it's not worth it! Does yours defo work?

oh mine works alright. no doubt about it. thinks its up for 50 quid delivered.
i'd suggest finding a decent garage/mech that aint gonna mess you about. sadly you can only find these by trial an error like most of us do! (some of us get stung for hundreds too).

Any s***ty HID headlights on the car?
They drive the multiplexing system mad & throw up airbag / abs faults

What's the serial number on your pump? I'm having trouble at the moment trying to find one that matches mine :/ . Nah, no s***ty headlights, mine are as standard. Two mechanics have managed to agree it's the pump so I'm now on the hunt for a replacement one
