Got given this by my Dad for my 16th B'day prezzie It's an original 1990 Phase 1.5 205 1.6 GTi 'Sorrento Green Pearl' Limited Edition. Only one of 300, 150 - 1.6 & 150 - 1.9)
Anyway Dad bought it off a mate of his as a restore project. Car wasn't in bad nick and came with loads of docs such as invoice, roadtaxs, mots etc.
When I got the car it had the following things to sort out;
- Starter motor was on it's way out.
- Passenger door wouldn't open.
- Neither electric windows worked.
- Ran like a bag of nails.
Anyway got the door open with a good push and gave it a good clean up. This is how it looked.
I then gave the car a complete service and it ran like new.
Also decided I wanted to spice things up we stripped the kit of the car and gave it lick of paint in Satin paint.
Once we had got that done we changed the starter motor and then had problems with the car started. The car had an alarm on it and found that due to the age of it the wiring had rusted so out came the alarm and at the same time dad got the windows working.
This is how it looked when I'd finished all that;
That was a year and a half ago and it's been parked in the corner being neglected and now it's being pulled out to complete + have a few tasty things done to it.
Car does need the majority of it's electrics sorting out as it's been at a butchers at some point in it's life so gunna sort that out.
What I have in mind;
- Phase 2 black interior parts
- Phase 2 'Sorrento Green' green carpet
- Phase 2 'Sorrento Green' doorcards
- Get kit resprayed professionally in satin black
- Have the red kit strips powdercoated in red
- 309 GTi rear disc beam
- 309 Goodwood seats
- Billie + Eibach Suspension setup
- Brembo 4 pots
- Speedline SL434
- Polybushes all round
- Uprated torsion bars & ARBs
Also going to be looking into having some work done to the engine but am currently looking for a complete magnex exhaust system for it. 4-2-1 manifold and straight through exhaust system.
Also going to get it completely detailed and touched up where it's needed.
I am going to be pulling it out from it's hiding place in the next week or so, so I can get back on it and get it ready. Hopefully I want this as my everyday car as I've always wanted one of these.

Lush car mate
If i did not want a to put a V6 in my 206, i would happily part exchange it for a 205
Actually thats an idea, simple V6 conversion, rare and fast
Also dont waste your time looking for 406 coupe 4 brembos, they go for stupid money, hunt around for wilwood or AP racing on race/rally websites

Looks a good one Uz! You may want to consider getting the underneath coated - they have a habit of rusting!

Cheers guys
This is a long time plan and will be worked on while the SW is in the bodyshop.
I've already got a set of 4pots as me & my dad have a 406 v6 were breaking. I've still got the 206 GTi engine from the GT and have been looking into doing a conversion for it.
But I've seen a V6 205 on youtube and also the one pug1off have done and they do look rapid
The bottom end was sprayed up by my dad's mate when he bought it but he did say that it didn't have an inch of rust underneath when he bought it

I've got a complete car which has been in a spin and every body part is damaged.
Drop me a list of everything you need and I'll give you a price. I'm taking a few bits for myself such as the auto dim mirror, brembos

TBH, as 16th birthday presents go, that's pretty epic getting an 80's hot hatch icon, and a rare model one at that . I'm glad you're doing something with it though now Uz, it looked a little sorry for itself when I saw it, hope you can get it back to its former glory

Cheers guys...yeh I know what you mean Ross it was looking sorry for itself parked right out of the way lol.
But am glad I'm actually pulling it out now and getting on with it. Dad's shifted a few cars since and rooms been made on the driveway so I can get on with.
I really want the car done for the summer as there's some lovely b roads around Evesham which I fancy using when on my way to the mates or sumut Take the long way round lol.

The roads on the way to your house weren't bad, you're lucky, there's absolutely nothing by me, too built up and the traffic only seems to get gradually worse
