Hi Guys,

Hoping you can help me

Since Saturday my clutch has been squealing when the pedal is touched.. looking through this might be the release bearing??

anyway whilst driving along today the car was "losing power" when driving and then 1/2 mile along the road stalled.

It now will not start. When turning the key it turns over and I can hear a "ticking sound" as though some electrics are not working. Also there is no power to the climate control panel.

Are these all likely to be linked to the initial clutch issue or is something else likely to be wrong?

The car is a 2000 X reg 2.0 HDi

The cam belt was changed 10,000 miles ago.

thanks in advance for any help

chances are your clutch thrust bearing has colapsed and one of the ball brearings has wrecked the head of the flywheel sensor.

It did this on mine Very Happy

the sensor you need to check is straight on top of the gear box , think its held in place by a 10mm bolt , get it out and see if there's any damage to the end of it.

Regarding the electrics/non-starting problem, would check the gearbox to chassis earth strap first. The squeeling is defo the clutch release bearing failure.
