As the title, What do you expect to pay for a cam belt kit, assuming you dont just change the belt but fit the complete kit with idlers and tensioners, I have been checking prices and they vary so much it is hard to get a good idea, I based this on a GTi138 Gates Kit

I recall paying around £30 for a 1.6 one with idlers. Not sure if that helps.

It does as I am compiling a list of vital service components we all need. The prices seem to vary so much I thought I would see if we could regulate where we could get a quality part for the least money

I'd look at buypartsby.co.uk first .... got our 1.4 HDi kit from them. A lot cheaper that sites like eurocarparts, etc. I'd also ring around our local motor factors ...

Now in the market for a 2.0 DOHC kit!

Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.

Lat time I bought a kit for the GTi is was £88. The kit for the Jetta cost £170!
2001 GTi 138, Bilstein Sprint dampers, H&R springs, 21mm Peugeot Sport torsion bars, 22mm rear ARB, Peugeot Sport Group A wishbones, 283mm discs, Goodridge stainless hoses, Maniflow 304 grade 4-2-1 2.5" manifold and system, 200 cell cat, Richard Longman head, 45mm Jenvey throttle bodies, 9.5mm TB spacers, 90mm air horns, Jenvey throttle linkage, Jenvey fuel rail, Aeromotive and Goodridge fuel fittings and braided hose, ITG sausage filter, Radtec custom radiator, Piper Ultimate Road cams, Piper vernier pulleys, Omex 600 ECU, Omex bespoke race loom. Saxo electric PAS pump, Vibra Technics engine mounts. Samco coolant hoses, TTV steel flywheel, 4.76 final drive ratio, 307 CC 180 ratios. 2019 BMW 530i. 2022 Mercedes GLC43.

EW10J ... early 2001 206CC. Got kit from buypartsby ... 53.27 + vat and delivery. ContiTech (Continental).

Now to work out how to fit it and track down the camshaft locking pins
