can anybody say how long it should take for a garage to change an alternator on a 1.6 16v 206cc

not really sure how cramped your engine bay is but i did this recently on my 8v hdi (which has aircon and power steering) and if a garage charges you more than an hours labour then i'd be interested to see how that time was spent.

mine was done the other day they had the car a week, the alternator then failed and so RAC took it back to them and 3 days later solved!!! Dont have it reconditioned, i did and it broke down!!!

the engine bay is the same layout as and xsi and it is going in under warranty so should hopefully be a new one gutted tbh because i only had the car back 4 hours after collecting it from the body shop after having a fiat bravo 'D' for two weeks whilst it was being repaired and i get the first hours labour free so was just wondering
