Went camping for the easter weekend, and who would have thought i'd be coming home with a wheel less!
Was going along the A66 ( Near Barnard Castle) and attempted to be overtaken, only for the other driver to clip my back end, snap off the whole brake and wheel along with it! Drove straight off and left me dazed! I'll let the pictures do the further talking;

Luckily my dad drove down and had a fiddle on, the drum was completely bent and there was no chance of getting the wheel back on, so he removed the thing down to the bearing and we had to push the thing into a hard shoulder Embarassed
there's not to much body work damage, so thankful for that !

Unfortunately there there was none! Luckily I'm with the AA so got a free tow, the garage is quoting me about £140 inc. fitting for scrap parts to go on, for whatever reason the air bag didn't deploy either, so that will need investigating too!

Airbag wouldn't have deployed because the damage isn't near a sensor. IIRC

Rolling Eyes

There is NO damage to the front so the airbag isnt going to deploy & the seatbelt pretensioners wont have fired because they would have been sod all use in this accident Wink

Thats one luck escape, could have ended up like a bad US police pit attempt and flipped you.

Good to hear your all ok and not much damage to the pug.

Didn't catch his reg number, I blacked out for a few minutes after it happened. Couldn't be more thankful that i wasn't going at stupid speeds and that the roads were near on dead as it was a good friday evening!

Why would you expect the airbag to go off? An airbag isn't going to help you unless you drive forwards into something.

There doesn't seem to be much evidence of another car hitting yours.

Having it go off would have helped to say the least!
And are you saying that I crashed the car myself? Shocked

How?

There isnt any front end damage so the drivers airbag would have been sod all use.
