You wont be going anywhere, you have no brakes now |
Thanks. Car is going to be SORN'd at the end of this month.
They worked enough to move the car back into its space

The brakes will still work BUT the servo assistance wont be.
You will need a heavy push on the brake pedal to get the car to stop

Thanks for all the replies so far.
So I just need to buy a replacement inlet manifold and a replacement gasket.
Looking on the bay, there are some variations - some from different years. Will any of these fit?
I'm hoping to get one that has that stub in a different place, so it doesn't get in the way.

Pre 2000 will not fit
Ports are: 00-00
Yours are: 0-0-0-0
16 valve will not fit unfortunatly
Im not sure if your throttle body will fit cable operated ones, but it may just look at the hole alignment before purchasing mate

So can I just go ahead and remove the inlet manifold and leave it off the car until I get the replacement one?
Or is it best to remove it and fit the new one at the same time?
Will it let in dust and stuff if I leave it off?

No harm in leaving it off mate, but may be wise to leave it on till you get a replacement mate

Thanks.
Just trying to find one that will fit, but has the stub somewhere else. But the ones on ebay don't show both sides
I might just take a gamble on one that looks similar.

Right, if that stub that broke is for the brake master cylinder air feed, can I replace the molded tubing with some silicone hose?
Basically, the reason it broke was because it got in the way, so I was thinking of cutting it down or heating it up and bending it to the right a bit and then use some silicone hosing instead.
Would that work?
