i wouldn't knock a little turbo engine i'm 1.2 turbo is pushing approximatly 130bhp

You can swap 2.0 engine if you can find from russia or near country.
Otherwise my second choice for 206 chassis 1.6 16v 110 hp engine.
I think you can found that one easily from 307 or other PSA cars.

Yes, I think it will be easier to find 1.6
structurally they are similar to the 1.4?
Gearbox they different?
