my central locking is playing up!! sometimes it works when i lock the car & use the dead lock. then when i try & unlock it, it wont unlock! key fob light flashes but no joy! if i open any door manualy the alarm goes off but as soon as i put the key in the ignition & turn it ,alarm goes off & key fob locks/unlocks the car fine untill the next time,SAME PROBLEM..
car is a 99 spec gti two button key fob....its as if the ecu dosnt recognise the key.. anyone know how to fix this probably??
NEW KEY FOB BATTERY FITTED..

Have you resynced the key fob?
I can help with muxed but never done a pre plex.

Dropping it can do it, Ford used to do it if you left it without power for more than 2 minutes.

ooo mine started to do that for about a week.. and then the whole car died and now I'm having the whole ECU rebuilt!

Wouldn't think so. Could be other things causing the problem.
Have you tried re-syncing?
Is the battery definately good (even if new, measure it.)?

tried re-syncing that works, but then after its locked for a few min and i try to unlock with button keyfob it wont unlock. i have to do it manually! i open the door & alarm starts going.. i put key in ignition & turn it ,alarm turns off.. key then locks/deadlocks/ opens the car..leave it 20 min.. keyfob buttons wont unlock car...battery is new....

Might be a dud.
Was it doing it before change of battery? If so its not that.
Clutching at straws but is your keyfob OK? Try with a mate's keyfob if available (sync it).

Need Peugeot Planet to code a keyfob to a different car
You cant sync a keyfob unless it has already been coded to the car in question BSI unit.

it has been working fine ,just started playing up 2month ago, thought it was battery , new one fitted still playing up..
& yes it just started doing it before i got new battery..

You also need the 4 digit alphanumeric security code before the BSI will even allow any keys / remotes to be coded.
