308 calipers will be huge! Probs take a minimum 15" to clear the calipers.

I changed my brakes to GTi brakes on my 1.4 it makes a hell of a lot of difference. It's probably the best modification i've done
I swopped my calipers for GTi ones, and got new disc and green stuff pads.

yeah it may be a 1.4 but the grampian roads kill the brakes. i swear it was only driving for like 30 mins tops and they were cooked.
yeah i think ill change to gti brakes.
and yeah i paid somthing like 300 for just the front brakes and a rear wheel cylinder. mad huh! so im tryin to learn this sort of stuff to save me money in the future. hate forking out for a garage

Yes they will.
What version of the GTI calipers have you got hold of?
There is 266mm x 20.4mm for the earlier ones
&
266mm x 22mm for the later cars
The pads & discs between the 2 different types are NOT interchangeable

You dont have to BUT if your 206 is one of those with a smaller master cylinder it would be an idea to upgrade.
Anyway your 1.4 16 valve Quicky already has the 266mm x 22mm vented front brake set up like the GTI so you already have the larger master cylinder as standard.
