Hi, completely new to this forum so please bear with me i have a V Reg 206 LX and a mate of mine fixed a hole in my manifold and took a screw out of the gearbox right at the front when i started the car the temperature rose really high and when i was pressing the brake it also sent the temperature up. I've changed the Thermastat and Radiator and the problem continues.Also when i put the fan on hot and cold it sends the temperature rising. It was rising into the red level which i know is bad but at the moment I,ve managed to have it bypassed but would like a more permant fix so if anyone can help please do so.

try replacing the fan switch and bleeding the coolant system?

mine does it in traffic coming home from work all i do is i see it rising up to 90c + then i stick on the Heaters on Full (4) and face it outside the car so your not sweating like a b***h lol! and your see the temp drop..
