Just noticed werid air noise coming from coolant expansion tank any ideas , ? anyone else had this ?
Is it air lock or need new cap cause know they have 15psi on them , ive had coolant changed few months back.

goes high in traffic dont think fans working, never overheated though no , heater is working yeah.

Just gone out and its still hissing at me lol like a snake coming from coolant tank notice it when been for a drive then get back look under bonnet and hear it .

New car 2011 / Thoruim grey , 207 1.4 Vti 16v Sport 95bhp , tinted rear windows.

Old car 2000/ 206 2.0 hdi.

have you bled it by the 2 bleed places ?

but the oil and coolant are fine arent sluggey brown colour thought that was main symton of head gasket and no coolant leak .
I have nothing else wrong just werid air noise .

sounds like its got a fair bit of back pressure.
could be the start of a headgasket failure, it may be worth your while having it checked at a garage to see if gasses are present in the cooling system, also check the coolant for oil in the mixture.

Not sure ,my mechanic did it so i duno about the bleed srews

get the coolant sniff checked. the coolant and oil dont need to b sludgy to mean a blown headgasket.

coolant sniff ?? also thought loss of power is a sign and goes well the same

there's 2 bleed places.

 


one is at the front and there's another thats on the pipes that go to the heater matrix
( next to brake servo , round black plastic thing with a slot for a screw driver )

like perry said they test for gasses in the coolant. with a blue fluid in a tube if it turns bright yellow/green there is a head gasket fault dont have to b down on power ether.

garage will put a special mix into a tubey type thing and suck the mixture.
( if it turns dark blue , bend over and pass him the vasaline Wink )
