sorry about silly question but is revving 4k to 5k ok? does it cause much strain on the engine especially if you are doing it for a while on the motorway? thanks.

on a 1.1 its probably not the best idea

Its fine, just don't bounce it off the limit.

its fine, just make sure you have fresh oil and the engines fully warmed up
