i went to the scrap yard for a gti gear knob and couldnt get it off how do you take it off

i did and turned it 90 degrees to the left im gunna cause myself an injury next time i think lol

Sometimes they come off with a fair bit of force and sometimes they won't.
I couldn't get one off for the life of me, in the end got a hackaw and just cut the whole stick off then put in a vice and sorted it
