As long as it's the Turbo and not the engine! I've no experience with Turbo's - is it a DIY job? Suppose it's good practice to buy a new/recon one?

depends on how much you want to pay.

the repair bill more likely to cost more than your car value anyway

Not bad - i'm just worried about it lasting, they're only as good as how the cars been driven really aren't they? Kinda want peace of mind really!

I've emailed these guys (just now - so not sure how much yet)

www.turbocentreuk.co.uk/

'Your Turbo Re-Conditioned
from Only £100+VAT. '

I'll let you know how I get on...

Before you go buying a turbo get the rocker cover gasket sorted and a good service then see what happens short term!

Ok thanks. A mate of mine did suggest it might not be the turbo as it's not 'holding back' or making any noise...

I'll give that a go this weekend. Guessing it's a DIY job? Only ever done one on a Capri and an old Mini!
