Im a bit bored so i thought i would make a progress thread of the things i have done to my 1.4 GLX since i have had it.
I got the car in July 2010 and it allready had quite a few mods on it (not all of them were to my taste).
Here are some pics of how the car was looking when i got it.
The previous owner had put half leather seats in from a GTI which look really nice and still have.
It did come with standard phase one lights but i sprayed them with tinting stuff to get them black. At the time i liked it but now im not such a fan.
It also came with 15" cyclones on.
The calipers had been painted blue by the previous owner which was ok but... he painted the drums blue too which looked cheap and s**te imo but i was too lazy to change this for a long time.
My first mod was tinted windows. I got the rear 3 windows done almost limo black which looked really cool and am still pleased with this.
I didnt want people to know that my 206 is ancient so i bought a personalised plate and decided to change some bits that made it look phase one.
My next mod/mistake was buying these.....
Wow they were nasty. There was a massive seal going around the edge of the light which just looked so cheap and nasty it made baby jesus cry.
Phase two boot strip was my next idea, however i struggled to find one in black so i settled with this
and sprayed it myself along with the door strips. Both turned out really well
To try and stop the lexarse lights from looking so rubbish i bought some flyeye to cover up the seal. I also put some of this on my headlights..
After a while i grew tired of this look on the black lights and the film was starting to rip so i swapped the black lexus lights for some phase twos which are waaaaaay nicer. I also decided to de-wiper the back and im very pleased with the result although im sure someone keeps stealing the rubber gromit that i put in the hole.... or it keeps falling out, not sure lol
I then decided that i needed some new alloys. In my excitement i bought some 18" wheels...... probably should have checked on here first but alot of people thought it was a bad idea... they were right. They didnt fit under my non sport wings and even if they did it would have been horrible to drive in, however they did look awesome.
you can see how far they stick out... super MOT failure
so i sent them back and got a set of these
which are a little bit smaller but still looked amazing.
I decided that i no longer liked the black angel eyes so i sold these and bought a set of crystals which imo make the car look much newer and cleaner.
I went to my friends house and he showed us a centre console he sticker bombed, we all loved it and i thought i would give it a go.
I liked this for a while but the novelty wore off pretty quick so i decided to swap it for this.
(sorry not my pic, stole it off B47T0N's FS thread as i dont have a pic of mine)
but i think this looks way better and i got some SP sliders to go with it which looks good.
To match the cc door strips i cc'd the handles
this turned out really well.
Here is what the car looked like up to this point, I also removed the flyeye from the headlights.
I decided that i no longer liked the debadged grille on the front so swapped it with Raz for a normal one in black with a red lion. I changed my mind about the red lion so now its just totally black.
After a little.. accident I damaged the passenger wing so i thought i might as well go and get some sports wings to replace them. I couldnt find any in black so just got random colours. I also painted my calipers red and drums black at this time which looks 10000 times better and took the blue stickers off the wheels.
I went to the scrap yard and got myself a new sport front bumper (not in black lol)
going to be getting these bits painted up this week for £200 which isnt bad for two wings and a bumper.
Whilst at the scrap yard i got some GTi door cards, handles, gear nob and glove box i dont have pics of these but you know what they look like.
My most recent mods are...
spoiler
and sports rear bumper
I found an absolute bargain on ebay.. GTI passenger door with tinted window and GTI mirror for £25 snapped that right up and fitted it the other day.. When changing the bumper i took out the s**t chicken wire upper mesh mess that the previous owner put in and put a normal one in.
yer the drivers side doesnt have a tinted window or a gti mirror yet lol but i will get round to that when i have the money you can only look at one side at a time anyway so it doesnt matter too much lol.
Ive decided that i want to change the wheels to some peugeot ones, preferably in gloss black so if you fancy them
www.206info.co.uk/Foru...31574.html
but yeh, thats pretty much it up this this point. After i get the front sprayed i will get some more pics up.
Im thinking of getting some cyclones in gloss black from XSIcheeseman and then slamming the car down really low, like 80mm... might look cool. Anyway thanks for looking will update soon.
**UPDATE 3/6/11**
Hey, so i got my wings and bumper back from the body shop and put them on my car today think it looks pretty awesome. I dont want to put the number plate back on tho, looks so much cooler without it!!
Whatyou think??

Looks good mate.
White wheels wouldn't have been an MOT failure. But the new ones are better anyway

Looks good, i would take the small standard plastic splitter off the bumper though. Never been a fan of aftermarket alloys but yours are growing on me.

Looks great, paint looks spot on. How did you go about fitting the rear spoiler? Is it just tiger sealed or properly bolted? If bolted, how did you go about getting it done? Cheers

nah its not bolted, just used f*** loads of sealant stuff from B&Q and seems to have done the job nicely. Was thinking of trying to bolt it on but im not brilliant with things like that n would probs have a hole somewhere i didnt need it.

Car failed it's MOT on 35278454268934952460158462986395861049158653098 different things and it needed far more money spending on it than it was worth
so took the wheels off and sold them and took my decent cd player and sub out of it then sold it for f*** all as it had no MOT or tax.
Proper gutted to see it go after all the money and time i have spent on it but that's the way the cookie crumbles.... s**t happens, move on eh.
Still sad to see it go, bye bye :'(
