Nice touch.
Worth doing a how to for it.
How did you position them so that they would be the same on both side?
And do they come on when you open the doors?

basically drew around the light with a pencil to get a rough idea, then drilled 4 corners, then sawed between the 4 corners and filed them down, You would never guess that one is slightly out
Im still playing with the lights so the answer is no about the "do the lights come on with the doors) However if any one is in the back they can just turn them on, Dead bright too!

all working now when i open the doors, however i put LED white lights in and i have to say they are bright!!!!

Do you get any trouble with the LED bulbs when you have them on to come on with the doors oppening?
Ive found that with any LED when I leave it on the door switch it still recieves a very tiny amount of power and sits there very dimly, shouldnt make too much of a drain on the battery but still not such a good idea.
