i apologise, i said it's gone, the report just said "Cylinder 1 sensor" i have no idea what that means, apart from nothing to me!... knowing my luck it will be spark plugs!
Any idea how much a new Cat is to replace? i've been looking around and seem to be able to pick up one second hand for about £30 but is that going to leave me with the same problem?

Ageing CAT - Just take it down some lanes and give the car some boot..
Make sure you are running Bosch spark plugs
Didn't he give you any fault codes?
How did he fix the airbag? [was the light flashing or solid?]

I believe the spark plugs are BOSCH - could be wrong, ill take a look when i get home tonight!,
I didnt get any fault codes it was a last minute thing that i turned up, he put the computer on it and he give me that info didnt ask for any money or anything because the garage was closing for the night! - he said its not anything to worry about and turned off the light for me.
With the airbag it was a solid light i believe (i wouldnt know if it was flashing as when i took my car to the garage he took my dash apart and both that and the engine management light had been covered with black mastic! But it was something to do with the com2000, he replaced the bit with the indicators attached (pardon my non technical jargon) and put the steering wheel back on and the airbag light went off.
got no lights atm! fairly pleased, but expecting to have to replace the cat - which my uncle can replace as he works for tyres and exhausts place - not sure on a price for the part though?

Least you didn't get charged.
Sound about right for the airbag as multiplexed models due suffer from tempremental COM2000's which in turn causes a airbag fault.
Like I said, just try giving the car a bit of hammer to clear the CAT out, generally does sort it out. You normally get a 'aging cat' thru a lot of short and stop-start journeys.
CAT's are about £200 for a decent one - www.aepdirect.com/cata...ry_id=3362
But you uncle should obviously get them at trade price.

had nothing but trouble with the car... so glad its getting to a stage where i can just start modding it to look better! i'm in love with my car!.
I do a lot of start/stop journeys especially with the price of petrol lately (im a student!) so think i'll give it a good thrashing !!
I shall start saving for the CAT then! haha...
Thanks for your help!

Yeah just do that, or do a reasonable journey on a motorway or something.
