I installed my stereo (not the standard one that came with the car) that I had bought for my old 306 into the 206 and everything works fine. Only now that if the stereo is off, the car switches off as normal when the key is turned to the off position and removed from the ignition barrel.
If the stereo is on, however, the car won't switch off, even if the key is put in the off position and then removed from the ignition barrel completely.
That ain't right, so what could have caused this? It wasn't doing this until I installed the stereo, so faulty wiring somewhere? It seemed fine when I switched it over, everything plugged in as before and there didn't appear to be any problems. Anyone shed some light on this?

Have you connected the car ISO plugs straight in to the back of this new radio OR is there some kind of harness the ISO are now connected to?

The black and white plastic clips are plugged into a seperate cable that came with the stereo and then this plugs into the back of the stereo.

OK, re-wired everything according to the manual and the guide on the top of the stereo. Turns out several wires were in the wrong place. I can blame my t**t of an ex-brother in law for wiring it up originally!
All working perfectly now. Car has also been given a good cleaning inside and out so went for a little spin around town with the music on. Ahhh, it's great when everything works as it should!
I love my new 206!
Thanks to all for your help!
