Hi guys I bought a gti180 on Friday and noticed the temp needle for the water just sits in it's resting position, I sat revving it on the drive to see if the fan kicks in and it does, car drives ok but it's annoying me that I don't know what the temp is, any ideas as to what it could be? Faulty sensor? Thermostat? Thanks in advance

If the fan kicks in then im assuming that the temp sensor must be giving a right reading to the ECU which leads me to believe it could be the dials itself. I guess that anyway!

*waits for someone to correct me* Embarassed

Remember on the 5 dial sport clusters:

Water temp gauge is at the bottom of rev counter

Oil temp gauge is on the right.

Make sure your looking at the correct tenp gauge as there has been plenty of people on here who mix the gauges up Laughing

One of the things thats put me of buying certain Vauxhall's - lack of coolant temp gauge.

By the time the warning light comes on the damage is already done Rolling Eyes

Yeah cheers for the heads up mate but it's def the water temp, the oil on the right side of the cluster works fine

Try a new coolant temp sensor.

If it was the sensor the fan wouldn't kick in though would it?
