Hi,
I wonder if someone could advise me on this. I've had the car a year, done 20,000 miles in it, and over the last couple of days I've noticed the turbo on my 2.0 HDi engine is making an unusual noise. It's slightly noisier than usual, with a whooshing sound- almost like the fan blowers are on in the cockpit. It seems slightly down on power when accelerating also.
Is this a turbo problem? Is it gonna cost me?
Cheers,

May just be a boost leak. Check all hoses are secure & in good condition.

as said get it checked for leaks, i think a "whoosh" is more of a leak sound and a "whine" is more of a bad turbo sound lol

its 02 plate so out of warrenty. Not a bad turbo, as thats moree of a high pitch squel. Sounds like a leak then. Pipes are generally in good order to be honest, and no evidence of any liquid leaking. Will it f*** the engine if I leave it for say a couple of weeks? or do I need to get it seen to asap

Check the hoses for splits.
There won't be any leaking liquid as it's just air going though them

Depends.
Buying from Peugeot they hoses will be about £40 each (guesstimate) or from a breakers yard, mere pence.

maybe the EGR breather pipe is broken, because with time and shaking of the diesel enging,it happen, which explain the wooshing sound, and the weakness,do you see any black smoke going from engine, close to the firewall??specially when you push on the throttle?,you will see a black dust on there, check for it.
