So im stuck in abit of a predicament, ive got about £2500/£3000 to spend in total to buy a 206 and make it into a project just modding it slighty.

I wanted to know what spec and engines did you all go for and why as im stuck on what to choose ?!

It's hard trying to find a 206 that has either had decent service history/low mileage or even had a cam belt change they all seem to be high mileage and a high price now a days!

At that age you should be fine, I had a saxo vts when I was 21 and a gti is in the same insurance group but with a bit more power and not so boy racer look to it, you could always go jap and get a clean s13 for that money or a golf/audi 1.8 turbo

Yeah right.

When I was 19 I was driving a 205 GTI (1.6) for £900 a year.

Now im 23 and it will cost me £895 to insure our new 1.6 205 GTI.

Four years older, four years more driving experience claim free... go figure..

Ive jsut checked it on a GTI now at 21 with my no claims is 1,200 and with an extra 2 years no claims added on it drops by £20 its a joke really.
