Hi Guys

I pretty sure my partners 206 is only running on 2 cylinders at the moment, I perform the test where you allow water to evaporate on a freshly warmed engine, cylinders 1 & 4 seemed very cold. The car has already had a new coil pack, and all the information on the web seems to suggest injector No. 4 is the problem one. Are the injectors wired in series? How do I go about removing the injector and replacing it with a second hand one? Do I simply remove the fuel rail and pull the injector using my hands or do I need to de-pressurize the fuel system first?

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Have you changed the spark plugs? It's fairly common for coil packs to fail on 206s.

The coil pack has been changed yes, not the spark plugs though but I inspected and gapped them when I changed it and all seemed acceptable.

Oh sorry, I missed that you had already changed the coil pack. Still on my first coffee.

Injector wise, unbolt the fuel rail & they pull out. Just a case of pushing them back in.

thanks, I was hoping it was that simple. Do you think its worth buying two injectors as both 1 & 4 cylinders are failing?

This really needs scanning for fault codes.

The engine ecu is smart enough to shut of the fuel injector to a cylinder if the spark plug / coil pack is misfiring on that pot


Cylinder 1 is the gearbox end, PSA Peugeot / Citroen like to do things different Laughing

Reading the Original Post it looks like he has the problem with the washer jets leaking down onto 1 and 4, like the problem you spoke about to me.

I am changing my injector either tonight or this coming friday, so maybe i can do a how to and save the world.

Also how bad must her car be running, we cut mine down to 2 and it sounded rough to say the least, hope she isnt driving it still...

Just to make it clear whats said above, cylinder 4 = left as you look from the front, ie the hardest one to get ya hand round due to the engine mount *on a 1.1 anyway*

i had this problem a week ago, mine was only one cylinder though. this is what mine sounded like

mine was a faulty coilpack.
they also mentioned something about the intake manifold can cause problems which seems like a faulty coilpack.

She is still driving, she has no choice as she needs to get around in her job! Thats why I need to fix it asap lol.

Just rang up a scrappy and they say that there are different ones so how do I determine which to order?

second this advice, do a compression test, can you give a lot of clues as to whats going on.

If you have a fault code reader that can delete codes,remove the injectors so you can see if they are working and also for spray pattern
