The handbrake thing is that when you have the handbrake on, the car can still move under accelaration, only slightly, but, now that ive thought about it, i havent bedded them in, since i cant drive it yet. Im going to pump the brakes this afternoon, should cure it, maybe a bit of cable adjusting.

need pics.
if the damper is at fault the car would be lower than usual.
seized torsion bar or trailing arm won't make you feel harder.
are they stock dampers? stock torsion bar?
