Right, that car isn't moving until it goes to the garage now.. and even then it will be towed.

I'd rather pay £350 for a clutch than nearer a grand for a clutch and gearbox -.-

Not exactly, when I replaced my clutch the mechanic showed me my thrust bearing - it was ruined and had been for some time...gearbox was fine though.

My gearbox is on the way out as well as the thurst bearing so If I have to replace one the other needs doing anyway. So untill it goes im just putting the millage on it, the gearbox has been whining for the past 20,000 miles haha.

Shut it u stupid little f**k, what's the point in posting in all my treads being such a c***? Least I can afford a gti180, and to get the cam belt done!

So apparently everyone knows my financial situation? If I wanted a 180 I would have bought a 180 simples Smile

It wont break you gearbox it isnt even in the gearbox its outside it.

Worst case it will push through the clutch cover and you will destroy the clutch

or destroy the bell housing when the ball bearings come through it at speed.

Would need to go though it at some speed to bust the gearbox. I work on these boxes all the time. Never heard of that before.

Its a plastic bearing no big deal.

I've had it happen on the motorway, thrust bearing let go at 4000 revs (due to a knackered link from cable to bearing), ball bearings and gearbox bell housing metal peppered the car behind and my bonnet had some lovely outward dents.

KrisB does them for £230 including clutch & fitted. Probably save you money to drive there, lol.
