My girlfriends black 306 always looked clean when it was dirty, I was amazed how much dirt came off it when it used to get jet washed. My silver 206 though, as soon as it's been washed, if I drive anywhere in it, I instantly get tar marks and dirt on the arch near the indicators

Yeah I would say that's the only gripe I had with my silver gti, the tar marks were visible, nothing some autoglym tar remover couldn't get rid of though

Black cars are easiest to keep clean because they hide the dirt, white and silver are the worst because silver looks dirty all the time

Nonsense... nice contradiction too. If silver looked dirty all the time then it wouldn't need cleaning as it'd still look dirty even after Rolling Eyes

I suppose you'd swear green was gold too....

It's not a contradiction Ali, What I mean is after a week of driving to work my car looks way dirtier than my girlfriends 306 used to and we both drove similar distances every day.

I swear some days you proper have to spell things out on here

If your car gets as dirty as you say then id suggest the Zaino system, it claims to repel dirt and dust because of its anti-static ability Wink

You do it yourself or find a local detailer that uses their products. You can buy it all from Cleanyourcar.co.uk, they have kits already made up of everything you would want. Its the Z-2 that is claimed to repel dirt but they say its best to use the whole system so products bond correctly.

The Zaino finishing kit is £60 which has the products you need or you can get the show car kit which includes shampoo and clay which is £85 if you need them.

Fianlly, a thread I can argue in Laughing

Black is far, far, worse than Silver to keep clean, I clean my car, and do all the usual finishing on it, within 2 days the roof (Black) is ready for another clean whereas the rest of the car (Silver) is still looking nice and shiney..

Although I have to agree, Black is sooo much easier to get a wet look and depth with than silver.. Cant have the best of both though eh?

Best thing is sponge and water, cleans it right off Smile

And if you keep up with the clay bar and the wax, then it will be fine!
